Environmental Policy

Our environmental approach

Area63 is designed around reuse before disposal. Where safe and practical, materials entering the venue should be assessed for reuse as props, set dressing, smashables, repair stock, workshop material, packaging or donation before being treated as waste.

Practical commitments

• Separate reusable items from general waste at intake where possible.
• Use approved containers and marked areas for glass, metal, electronics, cardboard, plastics and general waste.
• Choose durable equipment, repairable fixtures and modular room dressing where possible.
• Reduce single-use material in café, event and studio operations where a practical alternative exists.
• Keep staff guidance simple enough that it can be followed during busy sessions.

Energy, water and purchasing

Operators should prefer efficient lighting, sensible heating controls, planned maintenance, refillable or bulk supplies where practical, and local suppliers where that reduces waste, transport or unnecessary packaging.

Continuous improvement

This policy should be reviewed as the site develops. Area63 can add targets for landfill reduction, recycling volume, reuse volume and local supplier use once actual operating data is available.
